ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking full time Research Assistants to support our project teams. Research Assistants provide logistical and administrative support to multiple evaluation, needs assessment, and/or strategic planning projects and maintains consistent communication with their Project Leads. Research Assistants use their knowledge of evaluation and/or applied research to assist with data collection, management, analysis and reporting.
NOTE: This is role is California-based and requires occasional travel to client sites.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and schedule data collection activities
- Support or conduct qualitative and quantitative data collection (stakeholder interviews, focus groups, surveys)
- Conduct document reviews
- Conduct literature reviews
- Support data entry and file verification
- Maintain project data sets, including data entry, verification, and cleaning
- Conduct descriptive statistical analysis
- Assist with inferential statistical and qualitative analysis
- Summarize data in tables, charts, graphs
- Create data visualizations, with direction
- Assist with drafting sections of reports and presentations
- Format reports and presentations
- Participate in client and team meetings and perform note taking during meetings
- Translate data collection tools and other documents, as needed
- Conduct other activities to support projects, as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in psychology or an applied social science
- One year or more of full-time evaluation or similar applied research experience
- Highly organized, can produce work on multiple projects on time
- Demonstrated proficiency in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods
- Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and SPSS or similar statistical software
- Preferred: Fluency in Spanish preferred (verbal and written)
- Preferred: Experience working in or with a non-profit and/or government agency
- Preferred: Subject matter expertise in criminal justice, public health or mental health
