As we move closer to June 30th and look back on the 2023-24 fiscal year, we are so grateful for the hundreds of clients we have the pleasure to work alongside. About 6 months ago, we began to collaborate with law enforcement agencies and courts throughout California to support their Organized Retail Theft (ORT) Grant Program evaluation efforts.
In response to significant increases in organized retail crime, cargo theft, and motor vehicle and motor vehicle accessory theft, the state of California initiated the ORT Grant Program by creating two types of competitive grants. ORT Prevention Grants were designed to help city police departments, county sheriffs’ departments, and probation departments support local law enforcement agencies in preventing and responding to organized retail theft. ORT Vertical Prosecution Grants were designed so that district attorneys can use vertical prosecution models to address these issues. ORT grants are crucial components of the state’s commitment to enhancing public safety. Thirty-eight ORT Grants were funded this year and EVALCORP is partnering with one-third of them to conduct program evaluations that, ultimately, will inform the impact of these important efforts statewide for the next several years. Below is a list of the ORT grant recipients we are truly honored to work with:
- Anaheim Police Department
- Bakersfield Police Department
- Costa Mesa Police Department
- Hemet Police Department
- Irvine Police Department
- Orange County District Attorney’s Office
- Palm Springs Police Department
- Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office
- San Ramon Police Department
- Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office
- Ventura County District Attorney’s Office
- Ventura County Sheriff’s Office
We are so thankful to all of our new partner agencies for choosing us as their program evaluation consultant. We look forward to our continued partnerships and measuring impacts of ORT grants throughout California!
