Our Southern California team members recently came together to celebrate a special moment for one of our Research Associate II’s—Tara and her soon-to-arrive little one.
Everyone gathered at our headquarters, which was decked out with sweet balloons and adorable animal-themed decorations, to enjoy a delicious catered breakfast and to celebrate Tara.
Of course, no baby shower is complete without a few games, and we made sure to keep things lively! We played a hilarious game of “Don’t Say Baby,” where each person received two clothespins, and the challenge was simple—don’t say the word “baby.” It wasn’t as easy as it sounds! Every time someone slipped up, their clothespins could be “stolen” by another team member. Laughter filled the room as we all tried to talk about Tara’s soon-to-arrive bundle of joy without saying the forbidden word. In the end, it was Luis who emerged victorious, having caught the most “baby” mentions and winning a prize—a box of chocolates from See’s Candies!
The celebration continued with Tara opening gifts from the team. Our remote team members, who couldn’t travel to join us in person, contributed sweet wishes and heartfelt sentiments that were added to a baby book—Harold and the Purple Crayon—which served as a card for Tara. It was heartwarming to see the outpouring of support from the team, and it brought us all closer as we celebrated both Tara and the new beginnings ahead.
It was a memorable morning filled with joy, laughter, and connection. Events like these remind us of the importance of celebrating the milestones in each other’s lives, and we’re all eagerly awaiting the day we get to meet Tara’s little one!
