Welcome to the Team: Dr. Kristen Cunningham

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Kristen Cunningham to the EVALCORP team!

As a Research Associate I, Kristen leads and supports data collection, analysis, and reporting across evaluation, needs assessment, and strategic planning projects. She brings over five years of research experience in early childhood, education, and behavioral health—applying both quantitative and qualitative methods to design comprehensive, equity-focused evaluation frameworks.

Help us give Kristen a warm welcome—and keep reading to learn a few fun facts about her and what she brings to the team!

  • If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
  • Kristen: Popcorn and dark chocolate. I know what you’re thinking… “That’s not a meal,” right? My refined pallet would beg to differ. Popcorn is a staple of my diet and has made many satisfying meals. You can’t go wrong adding a little bittersweetness of dark chocolate on the side either.

  • What everyday activity would you win a gold medal in if it were suddenly an Olympic event and why?
  • Kristen: Selecting the right sized tupperware for leftovers. It’s my superpower. I love cooking and I always make enough so I have leftovers for the next day so it’s a skill I’ve become pretty practiced at!

  • What most excites you about joining EVC team and why?
  • Kristen: I’m excited about joining the EVC team because of their thoughtful, equity-driven approach to working with communities and clients. I was drawn to the way the team centers real-world impact and collaboration in every stage of the evaluation process.

  • What skill are you most excited about sharing with our clients, team, and communities?
  • Kristen: I’m eager to share my experience in mixed-methods research and community-engaged evaluation, especially in ways that elevate diverse perspectives and support equitable outcomes. I’m also passionate about designing tools and processes that make data more accessible and useful for the people who rely on it.

We’re thrilled to have Kristen on board! Her equity-driven approach and deep experience in the early childhood, education, and behavioral health sectors have already made a meaningful impact, and we’re excited to see all she’ll continue to bring to our work.
