Each spring, our team travels from across the country to reconnect, recharge, and have some well-earned fun together. This year’s Team Connection Event took us to an axe-throwing venue in Southern California, where colleagues from New York, Nevada, Nebraska, and all throughout California gathered for EVALCORP’s 2025 Spring Offsite.
The day was filled with spirited competition, laughter, and lots of axes flying (safely!) through the air. Whether it was the first-time throwers or the unexpected pros, everyone had a chance to test their aim and enjoy some friendly rivalry. Our offsite wasn’t just about the axes—we mixed it up with classic games like corn hole and Giant Jenga. We even carved out time for a dance break with a line dancing instructor.

No event is complete without great food and a few signature EVC touches. We dug into a festive taco bar and closed out the afternoon with branded cupcakes (because no celebration is complete without dessert).

Our closing award ceremony gave us a chance to celebrate the unique talents and energy each person brought to the day. Award winners included:

Mariana de Santibañes, one of our Research Associates who joined us from New York, won the Timber Tantrum Award – for the most enthusiastic celebration after a bullseye.

One of our newest team members, Taylor Kidd, won the Hatchet Hero Award – for the most improved thrower of the day.

Stella Park, one of our Research Assistants, won the Axe-ident Award – honoring the most creative throws, bounces, and styles.

Our Organization Development Director, Allison Wallin, won the Happy Lumberjack Award – recognizing standout sportsmanship and team spirit.
We left the event with great memories, stronger connections, and a few new skills!

Here’s to another successful offsite—and to always finding creative ways to come together, celebrate our team, and have some fun along the way.
