EVALCORP Service with Purpose: Volunteer Day

On October 8, 2024, EVALCORP proudly hosted its first volunteer day, EVALCORP’s Service with Purpose, where team members came together to support various local communities. With a shared goal of giving back, employees participated in events across multiple cities, reflecting our commitment to Serving with Purpose and creating meaningful connections beyond the workplace.

Garden Grove Food Bank (Garden Grove, CA)
Members of our local team gathered in Garden Grove, California, bright and early to help sort essential food items at the Garden Grove Food Bank. Our volunteers diligently sorted, organized, and packed food donations, ensuring that older adults and families in the community could access nutritious food. We packed almost 12 pallets of food boxes, helping feed over 500 seniors in need!

Sure We Can (New York, NY)
In New York, our teammate Mariana joined forces with Sure We Can, a redemption center that helps marginalized individuals in NYC earn a living by collecting and redeeming cans and bottles, known as “canning.” Her role was to help sort the cans brought in by the canners, ensuring they received full refunds and an extra 20-25% for properly sorted containers. It was a physically demanding yet rewarding experience that gave her a deeper appreciation for the hard work and resilience of the canners, as well as the vital role Sure We Can plays in supporting this community and promoting environmental sustainability.

LA Family Housing (Los Angeles, CA)
Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, our colleagues Alex and Celina volunteered with LA Family Housing, an organization that helps people transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services in the Los Angeles area. Alex and Celina packed bags of baby and toddler clothes for families who live in any of their over 30 interim, affordable, or permanent supportive housing properties, lending a hand to help ensure that the most vulnerable in our communities have access to necessities.

Our Commitment to Giving Back
This Volunteer Day exemplifies EVALCORP’s commitment to supporting our communities and upholding values that go beyond our everyday work. Whether assisting with food distribution, supporting recycling initiatives, or providing essential resources to families, our team remains dedicated to fostering positive change. EVALCORP is incredibly proud of our team’s efforts, and we look forward to making an even greater impact in future volunteer events!

Thank you to everyone who participated and brought our “Service with a Purpose” initiative to life.
