Creating Holiday Magic: Highlights from EVALCORP’s Annual Celebration

The holiday season is always filled with magical moments, and EVALCORP’s end-of-year celebration was no exception. Staff from near and far gathered to mix, mingle, and enjoy an afternoon of laughter, connection, and wonder—thanks in part to a dazzling performance by magician Doc Magic.

Looking as though he’d stepped straight out of a fantasy novel, Doc quickly redirected our attention from the appetizers to an opening illusion that showcased his uncanny ability to reveal what each of us had secretly placed beneath a silver cup. The room buzzed with disbelief as he effortlessly delivered reveal after reveal.

Doc Magic explains his first trick to Shayla, Sally, and Jen.

As conversations flowed, Doc continued to make his way around the table, captivating small groups with an interactive card routine that ended with a twist none of us saw coming.

For a team grounded in data, details, and evidence, his seemingly impossible mind-reading feats were nothing short of astonishing, leaving many of us wondering how on earth he knew what he knew.

Kristen can’t believe he’s just correctly guessed the name of her childhood best friend!

Allison and Anthony laugh as the trick unfolds.

After a delicious lunch and dessert, the grand finale brought even more excitement. Three staff members volunteered to participate, including Alex, who bravely offered her ring for the trick. With a dramatic wave of the wand and Sally’s enthusiastic “abracadabra,” the ring vanished—only to reappear moments later, tightly wrapped inside a series of nested boxes hidden deep within the bag Kristen was holding. Gasps, laughter, and total amazement filled the room.

While Doc’s performance was delightful, the real magic came from spending time together—sharing stories, building connections, and celebrating the sparkle of the season. We are grateful for another meaningful year and for the opportunity to gather, reflect, and look ahead to all the good things to come.
