Our team consists of seasoned professionals who bring content expertise and years of experience to every client project.

Kristen Donovan, Ph.D.
President and Principal Consultant
Dr. Donovan is a social psychologist with over 20 years of applied research, evaluation, training, and consulting experience. As President and Principal Consultant of EVALCORP, Kristen assists public and private sector agencies in determining current and future needs, gathering data through surveys and other applied research methodologies, measuring the impacts of programs and initiatives, and providing planning and development services for maximized effectiveness. In addition to her quantitative and qualitative skills, Kristen maintains experience and content expertise in the fields of prevention, substance abuse treatment, criminal justice, mental health, public health, education, children’s services, and organization development. She is an active member of the American Evaluation Association and Organization Development Network. Kristen is an Evaluation Advisor and Board Member to several nonprofit organizations serving youth in California. She holds M.A. and doctorate degrees in Applied Social Psychology from Loyola University Chicago, and a B.A. in Psychology with a Business Administration minor from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. Research Associates and Consultants

Erica Pachmann, M.A.
Project Director
Ms. Pachmann is an organizational behavior psychologist with over eight years of applied research and evaluation experience working with public, non-profit, and private agencies in the fields of prevention, performance management, organizational development, and health. As a Project Director at EVALCORP, Erica leads teams and clients regarding evaluation plan development, designs data collection tools, conducts statistical analyses, reports on outcomes, and develops custom and user-friendly communication materials. She maintains expertise in both quantitative and qualitative data collection methodologies, as well as database development and management. Erica is a long standing member of the American Evaluation Association. Dustin Anderson, Ph.D.
Program Manager
Dr. Anderson is a social science researcher with 7 years of applied experience in research, evaluation, measurement, training and consulting. As the Project Manager at EVALCORP, Dustin leads teams in designing and executing the firm’s evaluation, applied research and strategic planning projects. This includes the development of a scope of work, evaluation plan, data collection tools and an analysis plan that is tailored to each client’s specific data needs. Dustin also provides consultation to clients to fully execute thoughtful program implementation plans to maximize programmatic impact on the community. In addition to Dustin’s skills in evaluation, measurement and research, he maintains expertise in Implementation Science, transparency in social science research, and school leadership for continuous improvement. He is an active member of the Design and Analysis of Experiments TIG in the American Evaluation Association and a continued member of the Society for Researchers of Educational Effectiveness. Dustin holds a Ph.D. in Evaluation, Measurement & Research, an M.A. in Educational Leadership, and a B.A in Mathematics Education from Western Michigan University. Allison Wallin, Ph.D.
Senior Consultant
Dr. Wallin is a health and developmental psychologist with over 15 years of experience in research and evaluation. As a Senior Research Consultant, Allison designs evaluation plans, develops data collection tools, conducts quantitative and qualitative analyses, and writes reports. Allison maintains expertise in child development and health, adult and child mental health, consequences of early adversity and trauma, early care and education, and community-based programs. She is experienced in designing and overseeing evaluations, translating evaluation findings into actionable recommendations, constructing user-friendly evaluation reports, and presenting evaluation findings to a variety of stakeholders. Allison earned a Ph.D. in Psychology and Social Behavior with a minor in Quantitative Methods from the University of California Irvine and a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Mary Washington. While at the University of California Irvine, Allison received a National Research Service Award from the National Institutes of Health to support her training and research. Kelly Goods, Ph.D.
Senior Consultant
Dr. Kelly Goods has 15 years of experience in evaluation, applied research and mixed-methods assessment. She maintains significant content expertise in the fields of child development and psychology. Kelly utilizes both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, is an experienced facilitator and is adept at data collection tool design and implementation. Additionally, she is experienced in evaluation planning and design, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and report writing and presentations. Kelly is experienced in working with government and non-profit organizations, on projects focusing on early care and education, developmental screening, maternal health, and mental health. Kelly earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, then went on to receive her masters and Ph.D. in Education, from the Psychological Studies in Education program at UCLA. Lyn Paleo, Ph.D.
Senior Consultant
Dr. Paleo has 30 years of experience in program evaluation, applied research, program design and implementation, training and technical assistance, and non-profit fiscal administration. For ten years she taught the graduate-level course on evaluation at the School of Public Health, UC Berkeley. Lyn maintains significant content expertise in areas of public health and early childhood development. Her research/evaluation styles range from conventional quasi-experimental designs with complex cluster sampling plans to community-based participatory approaches and she is skilled at both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis. Her special skill sets include designing and implementing practical program evaluations; writing and creating engaging visual displays; designing both representative and purposive sampling plans; developing and analyzing online surveys; GIS mapping using client data and public datasets; and evaluation capacity-building through coaching, mentoring, and training. Dr. Paleo received a masters degree in Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School and a doctoral degree from UC Berkeley School of Public Health. Tronie Rifkin, Ph.D.
Senior Consultant
Dr. Rifkin is an evaluation professional with 20 years of experience as an applied researcher and statistician. As a Senior Research Consultant with EVALCORP, Tronie works with public and non-profit agencies in the education and social service sectors and has particular expertise evaluating health, mental health, and community-based programs, as well as educational programs targeting children and youth. She has expertise in all aspects of evaluation and research design, instrument development, quantitative and qualitative methods and analysis, and report writing. Her experience includes implementing successful strategies to address program evaluation challenges, using evaluation techniques that provide useful information for program improvement and decision-making, and analyzing and synthesizing data from multiple sources to identify program outcomes. Tronie earned a Ph.D. in Education with a specialization in Research Methods from the University of California Los Angeles, an M.S. in Psychology from California State University Los Angeles, and a B.S. in Russian at Georgetown University. Lorena Roque, M.A.
Data Manager
Ms. Roque brings over 22 years of experience to EVALCORP with content expertise in criminal justice, substance abuse treatment and prevention, human services, and education. As a Data Manager at EVALCORP, Lorena establishes and manages complex databases, provides statistical consultation to clients, and develops actionable recommendations for clients based upon quantitative and qualitative information. She has worked on multiple federally funded projects and regularly presents findings from her work with community-based agencies at local and national conferences. She is a member of the American Evaluation Association, American Society of Criminology, and the National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP), and holds accreditation from the National Center for State Courts’ Institute for Court Management as a Certified Court Manager. Lorena holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Social Ecology (with a concentration in psychology and social behavior) and Social Sciences (with a specialization in research and analytic methods) from the University of California at Irvine. Her credentials also include an M.A. in Criminal Justice (with a specialization in research and evaluation) from Loyola University Chicago. Shayla Wilson, M.P.P. 
Project Coordinator
Shayla is a sociologist specializing in policy and evaluation. She holds four years of applied qualitative research experience and subject matter expertise in the fields of criminal justice, victim services, reentry, mental health, and public health. As a Project Coordinator at EVALCORP, Shayla develops evaluation and research plans, designs data collection tools (e.g., surveys, focus group items, and stakeholder interview protocols), conducts quantitative and qualitative data analyses, and develops “client friendly” reports of findings. In addition to client project work, Shayla also supports our Development Team with proposal writing, workplan development, and firm-level marketing activities. She holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of California, Irvine, and a B.A. in Sociology with an emphasis on social inequality from the University of California, San Diego. Anthony Clairmont, Ph.D.
Research Associate
Anthony brings three years of experience in assessment and evaluation studies to his role as Research Associate at EVALCORP. He has extensive experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, program evaluation, developing plans for evaluation activities and data analysis, and designing and administering data collection tools (key stakeholder interviews, community surveys, focus groups). He has published research articles and book chapters in the areas of measurement, validity, data quality, and the process by which people learn to interpret data representations. In addition, he has taught university courses in educational theory, linguistics, and social justice at UC Santa Barbara. Anthony holds a Ph.D. in Education from the University of California, Santa Barbara as well as dual master's degrees from University of California, Santa Barbara and Middlebury College. Nicole Miovsky, M.S.
Research Associate
Nicole has more than four years of applied research, non-profit evaluation, and data analysis experience. Her background includes both quantitative and qualitative methodology, as well as project planning, survey development, behavioral data collection, and a variety of descriptive and inferential analysis. She was an instructor for the Cal State University system for courses in research methods, statistics, and child and adolescent development. Nicole’s additional content expertise includes cognitive psychology, education, emotional development, child welfare, early childhood, and cognitive neuroscience. Nicole received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley and a masters in Neuroscience and Education from Columbia University. Gabriela Benitez, M.P.P.
Research Assistant
Gabriela brings expertise in conducting research in the areas of constituent services, revenue measures, housing development, political campaigns, charity opportunities, and re-branding strategies for non-profit organizations as well as a strong background in immigration policy and student financing. She has worked with a variety of audiences in both the public and private sector. Gabby is skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research, survey development and analysis, report development, policy analysis and evaluation, and project management organization. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy, a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in Criminology, Law and Society, all from the University of California, Irvine. Jordan Hall, B.A.
Project Assistant
Jordan brings a high level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities to her role as Project Assistant at EVALCORP. She collaborates with the team on developing evaluation plans, designing data collection tools, collecting and analyzing data, and reporting outcomes. She works on complex databases and meets with clients working in government agencies and community-based settings. Jordan utilizes quantitative and qualitative research methods, optimizes data for analysis and is adept at communicating findings in user-friendly formats. Administration and Operations

Colin Hanson, B.S.
Development Manager
Colin brings 10 years of business development and marketing experience in both the government and private sectors, with expertise in proposal writing and management. In addition, Colin executes and coordinates all aspects of proposal writing, blog development, technical writing and outreach on behalf of our firm. He works alongside the President and Project Coordinator to support development activities, client outreach campaigns, and business operations. Colin is a key member of the EVALCORP Management Team and assists with administrative and operational activities designed to best support our clients’ needs. He brings outstanding communication skills, business acumen, attention to detail and exceptional client service to his role. Colin earned his B.S. in Journalism with a Public Relations focus from Central Michigan University and can be reached at chanson@evalcorp.com.

Valerie Wieskamp, Ph.D.
Communication Manager
Dr. Wieskamp has more than 10 years of experience in communication consulting and graphic design. She has worked in nonprofit, private, and higher education sectors. As Communication Manager, Valerie manages and designs EVALCORP's printed and online communication, public outreach, and visual identity. She also provides communication consulting and design for clients' research publications, presentations, websites, and public outreach. She has content expertise in criminal justice, substance abuse treatment and prevention, and gendered violence. Valerie regularly presents findings from her research on public advocacy and media at local and national conferences. She holds a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Public Culture from Indiana University, an M.A. in Multicultural Communication from DePaul University, and a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from Iowa State University.
